Dr. Qun Li is currently a Research Assistant Professor at the School of Science and Engineering, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (CUHK-Shenzhen). She received her Ph.D. in Optical Engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 2019. In 2021, she joined the research group of Academician Tang Zhiyong at the National Center for Nanoscience and Technology (NCNST) as a Special Research Assistant and was promoted to Associate Researcher in 2024. Dr. Yongqin David Chen is currently the Master of Muse College, a professor of the School of Humanities and Social Science and an Adjunct Professor of the School of Science and Engineering at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, and a former Chairman of the Department of Geography and Resource Management at CUHK. He graduated from Zhongshan University with B.S. and M.S. in the mid-1980s and later obtained his Ph.D. from The University of Georgia in the USA. Qingyu Li received the bachelor’s degree in Remote Sensing Science and Technology from Wuhan University, China, in 2015, the master’s degree in Earth Oriented Space Science and Technology (ESPACE) from Technical University of Munich (TUM), Germany, in 2018, the master’s degree in Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing from Wuhan University in 2019, and the Doctor of Engineering (Dr.-Ing.) degree in Geoscience from TUM in 2022. Dr. Junjie Hu received his Ph.D. degree in System Information Science from Tohoku University, Japan, in 2020. His research interests include robotic perception, multi-sensor fusion, 3D vision, and embodied AI. He has published over 30 papers in prestigious journals and conferences in the fields of artificial intelligence and robotics, such as IEEE TPAMI, IEEE TRO, ICCV, AAAI, IJCAI, ICRA, and IROS, including 14 as the first or corresponding author. He also serves as a reviewer for leading conferences and journals like CVPR, ECCV, IJCV, RA-L, JFR, ICRA, and IROS. Prof. Chenzhong LI is a X.Q. Deng Presidential Chair Professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, the editor-in-chief of the international flagship academic journal Biosensor and Bioelectronics (IF13), the deputy editor-in-chief of RESEARCH (IF11) sponsored by the China Association for Science and Technology, and the journal Technology and Innovation of the National Academy of Inventors. Xing Wang received his bachelor’s degree in physics from Peking University in 2014 and his Ph.D. in theoretical physics from the same institution in 2019. He conducted postdoctoral research at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz and Technical University of Munich from 2019 to 2024 before joining CUHK(SZ) as an assistant professor. His primary research area is elementary particle physics and its interdisciplinarity with cosmology and mathematics. His main research interests include: 1) precision predictions for colliders in the perturbative quantum field theory framework, especially effective field theories 2) hidden structures of Feynman integrals/scattering amplitudes and the applications 3) large-scale structures of cosmology

Sanjib Ghosh is currently an Assistant Professor and a doctoral supervisor in the School of Science and Engineering at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen. Previously, he served as an Associate Research Scientist (副研究员) at the Beijing Academy of Quantum Information Sciences (BAQIS) from 2021 to 2024. Prior to that, he was a Research Fellow at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, from 2017 to 2021. He obtained his PhD in Physics from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2017. Broadly, his research interests lie in condensed matter physics, strong light-matter interaction, and quantum information processing. Zhanghua Fu received his B. Eng. (communication engineering), M. Eng. (computer science), Ph. D. (computer science) degrees from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, respectively in 2005, 2007 and 2011. From February 2012 to August 2015, he worked as a post-doctoral researcher in university of Angers, France. In May 2018, he joined the Chinese University of Hongkong, Shenzhen, and is currently a research associate professor. He is also the director of the multi-agent collaboration center in Shenzhen Institute of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics for Society (AIRS). His research interests include operations research, machine learning, multi-robots system, etc. In 2014, he won several tracks of the 11th DIMACS Implementation Challenge. In 2023, he won the “Spark Award” granted by HUAWEI (highest level). He has undertaken (as the PI) more than ten projects, funded by the government or commissioned by well-known enterprises.

 

Caiming SUN, Senior Member of IEEE, Research Associate Professor of School of Science and Engineering, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen. He received the B.S. and M.S. degrees from Beijing Normal University in 2002 and 2005 respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in electronic engineering from the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) in 2008. After PhD graduation, he continues working in CUHK as a Postdoc Fellow. Then, he works as a Technical Manager in Nano and Advanced Material Institute Ltd. He has more than 15 years of R&D experience, supported by NSFC, HK ITF, etc. In 2016, he joined the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen. His research interests include Optical Wireless Communications, Optical Phased Array, LiDAR for robotics, and Legged robots. He has published more than 50 papers in top journals and conference proceedings (JSTQE, JLT, Optics Express, Optics Letters, OFC, CLEO, ICRA, and IROS), and granted over 30 patents (8 granted US patents).

Lei Lei joined the School of Science and Engineering (SSE), The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen as a research assistant professor in Nov. 2024. Lei received his bachelor's degree from Shaanxi University of Science and Technology (2005-2009), master's degree from Beijing University of Chemical Technology (2010-2013), and doctorate from McMaster University in Canada (2013-2017). Lei worked as a postdoctoral fellow in Queen's University (Canada, 2018) and University of New South Wales (Australia, 2019-2022). He was a senior scientist at Flame Security International Pty. Ltd. Yanqing Xu received the Ph.D. degree in communication and information system from the State Key Laboratory of Rail Traffic Control and Safety, Beijing Jiaotong University, Beijing, China, in 2019. He was a visiting researcher with Lancaster University, Lancaster, U.K., from October 2017 to October 2018. He was a senior engineer with Huawei Technologies Company Ltd., from July 2019 to July 2020. From September 2020 to August 2022, he was a PostDoc researcher with The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, where he is currently working as a research assistant professor. Dr. Xu’s current research interests lie in distributed signal processing algorithm designs for large-scale antenna systems.

Jinke Ren received the B.Eng. and Ph.D. degrees from Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China. From 2019 to 2021, he was a Joint-Training Ph.D. student in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Northwestern University, Evanston, IL, USA. He is currently a Research Assistant Professor with the Shenzhen Future Network of Intelligence Institute (FNii-Shenzhen), the School of Science and Engineering (SSE), and the Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Future Networks of Intelligence, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, China. Aidong Zhang received the B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in computer science and engineering from Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China, in 1991 and 1996, respectively. From 1996 to 2015, he worked in a world-leading company, Shenzhen, China. Dr. Zhang was a recipient of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, China, in 2012. From Apr. 2016 to Oct. 2024, he was the Director of the Institute of Robotics and Intelligent Manufacturing, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (CUHK(SZ)). He is currently a research associate professor at School of Science and Engineering, CUHK(SZ).

Prof. Min Zhang received her Ph.D. degree from the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2006. She has 18-year research and development experience in the field of microelectronics. She had worked for Solomon Systech Limited (Hong Kong), developing advanced semiconductor devices with well-known wafer foundries. Since 2012, she worked as faculty at School of Electronic and Computer Engineering of Peking University, also serving as deputy director of Thin Film Transistor and Advanced Display Lab and the founder of Nanoelectronics and Soft Electronics Lab etc. Later, she joined Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute as a director. Yao Ji received his Bachelor’s degree from Xidian University in 2010 and his PhD in 2016 from Arizona State University, United States. Afterward, he relocated to Germany and worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Regensburg, the University of Siegen, and the Technical University of Munich before joining the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, as an assistant professor in 2024. His research interests cover formal and phenomenological aspects of quantum chromodynamics (QCD), the underlying theory describing the dominant interactions among subatomic particles. More specifically, he has made theoretical contributions to hadron structures and B-meson decays. He is also interested in exploring the potential applications of quantum computing in high-energy/particle physics.

Dr. Da LUO received his B.S. degree in Chemistry from Shandong University in 2009, and earned his PhD in Inorganic Chemistry under the supervision of Prof. Yan Li at Peking University in 2014. From 2014 to 2019, he pursued postdoctoral research with Prof. Rodney S. Ruoff at the Center for Multidimensional Carbon Materials, part of the Institute for Basic Science in the Republic of Korea. In 2019, he was promoted to tenure-track research fellow at the same center, and in 2022, he became a Team Leader, focusing on the synthesis of carbon materials. Dr. LUO’s research interests include the controlled synthesis of low-dimensional carbon materials, including graphene, (nano-)diamonds, and single-walled carbon nanotubes, as well as the exploration of their electronic and mechanical properties. He has published 40 peer-reviewed journal articles, with first-author and corresponding-author papers in top journals such as Nature (2), Advanced Materials (4), and Physical Review Letters.

Yi Yin is a theoretical physicist who studies the characteristics of quark matter. This type of matter is microscopically described by the fundamental strong force and is created during heavy-ion collision experiments at RHIC and LHC. Currently, he explores the phase, spin, and multi-scale structure of quark matter, which are largely unexplored areas. To investigate these, he develops and employs novel theoretical methods. Some of his formulated frameworks are used to explore other exotic matter, such as Weyl semi-metals. In 2024, he joined The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen as an associate professor.
