CUHK Special Exchange Program
The School of Science and Engineering (SSE) at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (CUHK-Shenzhen) and the Faculty of Science (FoS) at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) actively enhancing their collaboration and have launching the CUHK Special Exchange Program. The program offers students in chemistry and physics majors the opportunity to enroll in courses at CUHK and broaden their academic horizons.
Program Overview
Students will participate in the visiting program during their junior year, either for one semester or one year, to gain an immersive academic experience at CUHK.

Physics, Chemistry
Application Quota
A maximum of 10 students per major annually, with selections based on academic excellence.
Application Timeline
Course registration opens in mid-July for the fall semester and mid-November for the spring semester. For details, please refer to the latest notification from the school sent via email.
Program Features
Flexible Course Selection
Students are eligible to select courses available to exchange students at CUHK (subject to course prerequisite conditions and quota restrictions).
Credit Transfer
Credits earned for approved courses will be recognized and transferred accordingly.
Program Support
SSE will collaborate with the Department of Chemistry and the Department of Physics at CUHK to ensure completion of the exchange program.
Selection Process
Selection criteria are consistent with those for exchange students. For detailed requirements, please refer to official website of CUHK-Shenzhen. SSE will conduct an internal selection process to evaluate candidates. All nomination and application procedures will be managed by the Office of Academic Links at CUHK-Shenzhen.
Extra Opportunities for Exchange
Students majoring in physics and chemistry have the opportunity to participate in weekend study tours during their sophomore and/or junior years. It provides access to the advanced laboratory facilities at FoS, CUHK. Under the supervision of faculty members, students can complete certain experimental courses, and gain experience of the distinctive culture of both campuses.
