朱教授1982年浙江大学化工系石油化工专业毕业并留校工作,1991年获加拿大麦克马斯特(McMaster)大学博士学位,1994年起任教该校化工系和材料系,2009至2014年任化工系主任,2015年获“杰出大学教授”最高荣誉称号,2016年获加拿大化工学会最高奖R.S. Jane Memorial Award;2017年入职香港中文大学(深圳),现任讲座教授、副校长、深圳先进高分子材料研究院创院院长。
朱教授长期从事高分子化工与材料教学科研工作,专长:聚合反应工程,在茂金属催化溶液法烯烃聚合、可控自由基聚合、聚合反应过程数学建模及工业应用等方面做出了开创性工作。已培养硕士、博士、博士后160多名,发表SCI论文400余篇,引用2.2万余次,H指数85。朱教授热心科普,2019年发表《化工之歌》,2021年起,主讲中国化工学会大学新生“化工第一课”,并走进上百所中学讲座《学成理工艺,货与百姓家》。
朱教授还是Progress in Polymer Science、Current Opinion in Chemical Engineering、Macromolecular Reaction Engineering、Macromolecular Theory and Simulation、Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering、《化工进展》、《中国化学工程学报》(英)等期刊的编辑委员会成员。
朱教授先后当选加拿大工程院(FCAE)、加拿大皇家科学院(FRSC)、发展中国家科学院(TWAS)院士;入选“海外杰青”等国家级人才计划;当选加拿大化学联合会(FCIC)、加拿大工程联合会(FEIC)、英国皇家化学会(FRSC)、美国化学工程师学会(FAIChE)会士,中国化工学会外籍会士,现任中国化工学会副理事长。
