黄锐教授于1999年获得北京大学学士学位,2002年获得中国科学院硕士学位,2008年获得美国罗格斯大学博士学位。2008年至2010年,他在罗格斯大学计算生物医学成像与建模中心从事博士后研究。随后,他回到中国,在华中科技大学担任教职。2012年至2016年,他在NEC中国研究院担任研究科学家。现任香港中文大学(深圳)副教授,校长青年学者。
他的研究领域涵盖计算机视觉、模式识别、图像处理和机器学习。近年来,他的工作主要集中在智能视频分析、机器人视觉导航和自动驾驶领域。他在相关领域发表了100余篇学术论文,并主持或参与了多项由国家自然科学基金、科技部、及深圳市政府资助的研究项目。
黄教授曾获得多项荣誉,包括2023年国际图像图形大会(ICIG)最佳论文奖、2018年中国计算机学会(CCF)科学技术奖自然科学二等奖、2014年IEEE国际多媒体与博览会(ICME)最佳学生论文奖,以及2014年湖北省自然科学优秀学术论文一等奖。他还指导学生在国际竞赛中取得优异成绩,如2019年国际计算机视觉大会(ICCV)Raw to RGB Mapping挑战赛冠军和2018年IEEE国际数据挖掘会议(ICDM)全球气象AI挑战赛冠军。
