黄俊波博士于2008年在加拿大阿尔伯塔大学获得纯数学专业的理学学士学位，然后分别于2009年和2014年在滑铁卢大学获得数学硕士和博士学位。2013年，他获邀到在爱荷华州立大学举办的美国数学学会部门会议进行学术演讲。2014 年，他在滑铁卢大学的数学院担任学科教师，讲授代数和工程线性代数。2016年6月，他加入香港中文大学（深圳）理工学院担任讲师。他的研究兴趣主要分布在代数组合学，用代数方法去学习包括图在内的离散结构。
