Dr. Daquan Zhang achieved his B.Eng. degree in Electronic Science and Technology from Wuhan University in 2014, and Ph.D. degree in Electronic and Computer Engineering (ECE) from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) in 2020. Before joining CUHK-Shenzhen in July 2024, he worked as a Research Associate and Research Assistant Professor at the Department of ECE and State Key Laboratory of Advanced Displays and Optoelectronics Technology at HKUST. His research focus is on the growth and carrier dynamics study of semiconductor (e.g., metal halide perovskites) nanomaterials (nanowires, quantum wires, and so on) and their applications in advanced high-performance optoelectronic devices. He has published 8 first-author papers in top-tier journals, including Nature Photonics, Advanced Energy Materials, Nano Letters, etc. He also won many highly-recognized awards, including the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme, the Best Student Presentation Award (ECS PRIME 2016, USA), and the Top 10 Research Progress in Semiconductors in China of 2022.
