LAM, Kinley
Associate Professor (Teaching)
Master, Computer Science, University of Waterloo, Canada
Bachelor, Computer Science, Queen's University, Canada
Kinley Lam received his bachelor’s degree from Queen’s University and his Master’s from University of Waterloo, both in Computer Science. Prior to joining CUHK(SZ) in 2016 he has held various technical positions as Director, Software Architect and Chief Engineer.
Currently he also serves as Director of Software Development at n-hop, a technology startup based in Hong Kong, developing the next generation network communication technology called BATS designed for 5G and future wireless communications. BATS is a disruptive network coding technology that makes wireless multi-hop communication a reality, and BATS is jointly invented by Prof. Raymond Yeung and Prof. Shenghao Yang, faculty members of CUHK and CUHK(SZ) respectively.
Kinley has diverse technical knowledge in software development. His expertise is in designing and developing large-scale computer systems for high-performance, mission-critical applications of high availability and high reliability, utilizing technologies of server clusters and mobile computing, and leveraging scalable, distributed services-based architecture design.
He has developed and implemented numerous computer systems for warehouse and storage facilities, airlines, biochemical laboratories as well as finance and banking services.
