26 SSE Professors Selected among World's Top 2% Scientists
A record number of 26 researchers, or 30% of the full-time faculty at the School of Science and Engineering (SSE), The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen were recently named to Stanford University's World's Top 2% Scientists 2021 list, which shows separate data for career-long and single-year impact.
The selected SSE professors include Ben Zhong TANG, WONG Nai Ching Henry, LUO Zhiquan Tom, PUI David You-Hong, SHUAI Zhigang, TONG Shuk Yin David, XU Yangsheng, ZHANG Rui, ZHU Shiping, ZOU Zhigang, CUI Shuguang, HUANG Jianwei, NI Weiming, WANG Xuefeng, KAM Pooi-Yuen, LEE Tong Tony, ZHOU Yan, CHANG Tsung-Hui, SHUM Wing Ki Kenneth, XU Jie, ZHANG Jianhui, ZHAO Junhua, ZHU Jian, SHEN Kaiming, ZHAO Zheng, and LIANG Gaoqi.
Such outstanding results highlight not only the global significance of SSE researchers but also the vital role that SSE's academic disciplines play in boosting the international profile of CUHK-Shenzhen.
Calculations were performed using all Scopus author profiles as of September 1, 2022. A total of 8.5 million scientists are classified into 22 scientific fields and 176 sub-fields, covering arts, science and engineering disciplines. The incorporation of sub-research field indicators ensures a more objective reflection of the long-term performance and influence of scholars.
Notably, a total of 17 SSE professors were selected in both the "career-long impact" and "single-year impact" categories, including Ben Zhong TANG, LUO Zhiquan Tom, PUI David You-Hong, SHUAI Zhigang, XU Yangsheng, ZHANG Rui, ZHU Shiping, ZOU Zhigang, CUI Shuguang, HUANG Jianwei, NI Weiming, WANG Xuefeng, ZHOU Yan, CHANG Tsung-Hui, XU Jie, ZHAO Junhua and ZHU Jian.
